Prince William - on and on and on From: Marjorie. (08 Mar 2009 11:20):

Prince William has transitting Neptune coming up to square on his Venus which is on the focal point of a Yod to a natal Neptune sextile Pluto from mid March 09 onwards. Neptune on Venus can bring romantic disappointments but in his case it might also give rise to questioning about his direction in life since the Yod gives a sense of strain which needs to find the right direction before it slots into place. There''s also a good deal going on with his and KateM''s chart as tr Uranus squares Neptune from late April onwards and he then moves into tr Pluto opposing his Sun/Moon midpoint for the retrograde transit in May/June 09 which is often when relationships come under increasing pressure and can split. There''s also a sense of Prince Charles becoming more distanced from KateM through this year. Plus Prince William has tr Saturn square his Sun/Moon from this autumn onwards.
KateM does have her Nodal Half Return later this year so she''ll be pondering deeply on her fate and also asking questions about her direction.
If it was just Prince William''s chart alone I''d say they would definitely split. But there''s nothing catastrophic showing up on her chart instantly. Even with the earliest possible birth time her Moon and Sun/Moon don''t pick up separating influences till later in 2010.

Prince William From: Marjorie. (26 Sep 2008 16:32):
Looking at Prince William''s chart again - which just goes to show you shouldn''t do things at speed - there''s a couple of extra things come to light. One he''s got an out of sign Cancer Sun opposition Neptune in Sagittarius. So he''s vague like his father, indecisive, finds absolute commitment tricky (PChas - Venus Neptune conj in 4th). William''s Venus in Taurus is also rather strained with another out of sign opposition to Uranus in Sagittarius, and on the point of a Yod to a Neptune sextile Pluto. Out of sign aspects tend to be more strained, rather jarring. Venus opp Uranus makes him jump back from commitments since he fears being abandoned, so he moves first. Venus is also on the focal point of a Yod, and the Yod will certainly give him a sense of being out of step with himself especially where his emotions are concerned. Plus he''s got his Moon''s North Node in the 7th which makes him slide away from close relationships, though he wants and needs one with Sun and Moon in the 7th.
What holds him together chart-wise is his Sun Moon trine Jupiter, MC and Pluto so he''s basically strong, confident and lucky.
As if the basic strains in his chart weren''t enough he does have exceptionally heavy transits at the moment with Pluto opp Sun and Sun/Moon mid point and then Pluto opp Moon right through till 2011. They will pull him away slowly and possibly painfully from the past with a good deal of inner turmoil along the way. So he probably doesn''t know what he wants and won''t know for some time. 2009 certainly looks very highly strung with misjudgements (tr Ur squ Nep) as well as tr Neptune square his Venus which is generally disappointing romantically. Though with tr Pluto sextile Jup and MC he''s going from strength to strength career-wise. He does want more control of his life with tr Pluto now just into his 1st.
His 9th Harmonic does have Moon Venus in the 9th which may be where the idea cropped up that he''d marry someone from abroad but I''m not sure whether houses in 9H charts work in the same way as natal charts where that would certainly suggest a foreign bride and living abroad to boot! Though I suppose he could be posted overseas at some point ambassadorially or otherwise later on.
I agree it is a fascination and while I am relatively wary about dissecting too much where youngish people are concerned since I''d have hated it myself at that age - they do rather ask for it with all the nightclubbing, sixteen holidays a year etc etc.
Under normal circumstances I''d have said his relationship with KM while affectionate has too many problems and obstacles facing it (and always will have) to survive. And transits at the moment on their relationship chart are very stressed and for the next few years. But she''s definitely a hang on in there personality and her Sun/Moon midpoint which might indicate a break up doesn''t pick up the worst of the flack until 2011/12 at the earliest. His Sun/Moon is under severe pressure in 09/10 so it''s almost as if he''d rather give up then and she won''t let go. She''ll upstage him at every step of the way I''d imagine if he did try to go in reverse gear. My fear is they might marry and his first marriage would go the way of all things like his father''s.

More Kate From: Marjorie. (20 Sep 2008 10:32):
Chuckle. You can''t please all of the people all of the time. On the questions of what comes next astrologically for Prince William and Kate see the Politics and Celebrities section. Melanie if you have any ideas of what you want an astro-view of then do pitch it in.
Maggie I wasn''t using an Ascendant at all - Taurus is a 12 noon birth time. James says he finds sunrise charts work well if there''s no birth time and that would be 8 am-ish which gives a Capricorn Ascendant with Sun in the 1st. Though I don''t think she''s actually that confident (Sun in 1st). But I hate no birth times since you can think your way round myriad possibilities. I might be inclined towards a Neptune on a Sagittarius Ascendant (6.30 am) like Prince William which puts Jupiter in 10th, Pluto conj MC and the Mars, Saturn, Pluto in the 9th (a touch like Diana - Mars Pluto Uranus in 9th). But who knows? Pointless to speculate and since she''s done virtually nothing with her life there''s no way to rectify on events.
People in their twenties are often difficult to read since they haven''t yet shown their true colours/potential. Look at the Duchess of York - the all time party girl until she got a grip and started to pay off her debts by actually working for a living and that was in her mid 30s - about five years after her Saturn return. Some women never do. I''ve known women with pole-axingly strong charts who lived very quiet, modest lives since they never actually threw off the yoke of ultra strong Saturn and Pluto and empowered themselves. It may just be Kate Middleton has no idea how to get a grip of those very powerful planets of hers. Partly because it would mean facing up to her parents psychologically and separating from them emotionally so that she assumed the control rather than them. That''s not everyone''s trip and is difficult to negotiate anyway.
And remember for the socially upwardly ambitious types who sent their daughters to very expensive private schools they are mixing with a class who never regarded nine to six working as that chic. The Royals, well the Queen anyway, is very different from most upper class and aristo types in that she has an unrelenting sense of duty. The Sloanes like to holiday and party, might work in an art gallery or an acceptably posh charity if it will let them off for manicures, hair dressing appointments, long weekends etc. They don''t become dentists, doctors, lawyers or office workers who have to put in solid grind. The primary function of the ''gals'' is to look good, marry well and live in the stately pile somewhere throwing elegant parties. Actual work as most of us understand with its ties, responsibilities and commitments it is seen by them as de trop.
There''s a piece by Royal watchers in the DMail this morning saying her roller disco stunt was a strong message to Prince William that she''s feeling ignored. She does sound very like Princess Di.

Kate M and the Royals From: Marjorie. (19 Sep 2008 19:23):
It''s quite a welcome relief to get back to the Royals after so much high finance and US politics.
I agree her chart and her life don''t quite match at the moment. She has a Cardinal Sun (Capricorn) and Cardinal Moon (Cancer) plus Mars Saturn and Pluto in Cardinal Libra so she should be bubbling over with initiative and ambition, have strong organising abilities (Saturn) and want to be controlling projects (Pluto on point of T Square). She was bright at school with decent exam results. But she seems to be living out her Jupiter in Scorpio square Venus Mercury in Aquarius which is frothy, frivolous, superficial to the exclusion of the main driving force of her chart. That exhibition in short shorts and sequins this week was a nonsense for someone who seemingly expects to sit on the throne one day. One wonders whether she wasn''t getting off her normal demurely elegant track as a response to Prince William deciding to actually find himself a sensible job in search and rescue and putting off full time royal duties for three years.
Two thoughts: The first is that strong Saturn and Pluto can operate differently in women''s charts to men. With some men it drives them on even harder to achieve, with women they just give up and don''t try at all. Saturn squaring her Sun and probably her Moon will give her low self esteem, not that it''s too obvious, but it''s there. Achievement with such an afflicted Saturn only comes very slowly, with major effort and self discipline and after overcoming setbacks and frustrations in early adult life. Strong Saturn can sometimes start to kick in more productively after the age of 29 with the first Saturn return which with her is 2011 onwards. Pluto likewise can totally hamstring women in early adult life since they feel trapped, under someone else''s thumb with little sense of their own independent power. Often Sun Pluto women don''t come into their own really until their forties. She does look as if she''s in control but it may be she found a way of coping with her shyness at school by relying on her looks and dress sense to give her an aura of protection. Rather like Princess Diana who much to her surprise found she could exert influence because the camera liked her. But it didn''t help her to live out the real person inside. It''s almost like a false personality which is a defensive mechanism. I would have said that Kate Middleton has some really difficult lessons to learn with a fair amount of depression tucked away - Saturn Pluto on the point of a T square are not remotely easy.
Having said all that it is still surprising since she also has a Cardinal Mars on the point of the Sun Moon T square which is very go ahead.
Usually if I get stuck trying to work out why someone''s life is throwing up this kind of dilemma I look to the Moon''s North Node. Here it is in Cancer opposing her Sun and squaring Saturn and Pluto. So getting distracted from what she ought to be doing will be all too easy with the kind of insurmountable obstacles which Saturn Pluto throw up. Plus her tendency will be to slide back into the Capricorn North Node which says a good deal about pride, social ambition, wanting prestige, expecting to be looked up to. Her challenge in this lifetime is to aim for the Cancer North Node which is to do with valuing emotions rather than money, nature rather than power. So I suspect she''s just sliding back into that negative Capricornian thing of wanting to be grand. So she shies away from the slog of a nine to six job that a) might test her abilities and b) make her a pleb like all the rest who have to work for a living. Media reports aren''t always to be believed but one photographer whom she thought she might like to work with backed off when she demanded a four day week and time off for very frequent hols when Prince William was free.
There are definite rumblings of unease in the Royal Family especially with Prince Charles who may well see another Princess Diana in the making as well as the Queen. There will be obvious hiccups this October since it shows up on various of the Royal composites with Kate and her family with a strong chill wind blowing from Prince Charles towards the end of this year into 2009.

Kate Middleton From: Marjorie. (09 Aug 2008 21:15): Yes could be the beginnings of a distancing by the senior Royals. All of them even Prince Harry seem to be rather at arms'' length from Kate Middleton over the next couple of months and beyond. The Queen looks distinctly frosty middle of August and Prince Charles slightly later on. There does seem to be an undercurrent of aggravation between Kate and William, and she looks concerned from mid September onwards. Though I wouldn''t be surprised if she pulled a fast one at one point and tried to push him into a commitment against the wishes of the other Royals.

William From: Marjorie. (04 Aug 2008 15:25): Prince William has a strong 9th house but it''s got Saturn Mars Pluto in it. If he''d been going to marry a foreigner I''d have expected to see either Venus or the Moon there. And all things being equal Cancer is quite a traditional sign, fairly patriotic. Mind you his paternal grandfather, Prince Philip, is Greek/Danish/German and the Royal Family racially is very mixed European if you trace it back. I''d have doubted it in William''s case.

William and Kate From: Marjorie. (01 Aug 2008 16:01): Again! I think we ought to give them a break and let them get on with it - or without it. There are no absolutes in astrology only probabilities within which there are also free choices. I''ve seen people marry whom the astrology said were totally incompatible and they''ve ended up unhappy. Some have stuck it out the ensuing misery through thick and thin; others baled out. Not everyone is designed for a happy-ever-after relationship. If you don''t relate well within yourself, you won''t relate to another. The astrology will tell you the emotional dynamics of the relationship and the influences which are affecting it. But one of the many imponderables is how people are affected by the influences. Some boats get tipped over in the wind. Other boats get battered but manage to stay afloat.
Into 2009/10 Prince William has Pluto opposing his Sun/Moon midpoint which is normally the sign of a break up or at least a good deal of emotional turmoil. His Solar Arc Uranus crosses his Ascendant also in 2009 which will bring up a drive for freedom. His Secondary Progressed Moon also goes into his 7th in a year''s time for a couple of years thereafter which is often when shaky relationships part company and better ones take their place. But he is in a highly unusual situation, more trapped than most; he''s also a double Cancerian so dislikes letting go; and he comes from a troubled family. The old family patterns have a habit of rolling down the generations. His father was pushed into a relationship he really didn''t want; his grandparents'' marriage is hardly a match of serenity and bliss though it has settled in old age into a mellower phase.
His relationship chart with Kate M has a good deal of affection but there''s also a potential for major aggravation built into the chemistry. It is under pressure in 08/09 with Pluto opposing Venus but the major headaches come from 2011 with transitting Saturn putting a damper on their enthusiasm and around 2012 when Pluto and Uranus hard aspect the composite Sun opposition Mars and then in the years thereafter the composite Saturn. So it looks a sticky time.

Prince William From: Marjorie. (18 Jun 2008 19:32): He''s quite a bundle of contradictions - well most of us are but his are more pronounced in some ways. He''s Cancerian Sun and Moon so home and family oriented; and in the 7th house needs a partner to feel whole and secure. But New Moons are also quite self sufficient so he will wobble between independence and dependence. And he''s got his Cancerian Moon''s North Node in the 7th so sliding back into self centredness is easier than intimate co-operation for him.
He''s confident with a Jupiter Midheaven trine to the New Moon. But he''s also had his emotional self esteem squelched in childhood with that Moon square Mars (conjunct Saturn. He''s got Venus in Taurus in the 5th so is quite a party lover and a romantic but it opposes Uranus so he''ll switch on and switch off his feelings quickly.
But I suspect the main reason you may get a feeling of someone who is discontented emotionally is a yod from his sextile of Neptune and Pluto onto Venus. Since Yods are made up of two inconjuncts in this case onto Venus - he will feel out of step with his feelings and his social environment, never quite getting the parts of the jigsaw to fit as some others seem to do around him. So his social unease at times will stem from that. Yods are usually activated at some point into a clearer focus and with Venus there it may be that he needs to dedicate himself to some social cause or even to the arts. At that point since he''ll be more in tune with himself he''ll find his romantic and social relationships easier. Bil Tierney reckons the reaction point is the opposition to the apex planet which would be 25 degrees Scorpio. When that is activated then things start to shift into place. In 2009 he does have Neptune squaring that and his Venus which is usually romantic disappointment or disillusionment; and Uranus sextiles his Venus and trines the reaction point which hints at a new direction next year as well. He''s got a lot on his plate at the moment work-wise and is not really custom-built for a military career but until he gets that out of the way he really doesn''t have much choice.
With Pluto now just moving into his 1st house he wants to get more control of his life and environment and learn about himself. Since Pluto also opposes the Sun, Sun/Moon midpoint and Moon over the next four years he''s got a huge amount of changing to do - clearing old structures out of his life and old emotional baggage to make way for a new way of relating and co-operating. His Secondary Progressed Moon will be into his 7th house of relationships from mid 2009 for a couple of years thereafter which is when relationships usually firm up or break off to make way for better. And his Secondary Progressed Venus conjuncts his natal Sun in late 2010/2011 which is usually finding the love of his life. Kate Middleton had that when she met him. It could be that''s when he really decides to go for marriage or I''ve even seen Prog Venus conj Sun when a child arrives who becomes the light of the parent''s life though that''s less healthy than a one-to-one relationship.
William and Kate''s relationship is under strain this year and next with Pluto opposition the composite Venus and then working up to a really difficult time come 2011/12. So who knows? She''s almost certainly a Full Moon baby so although she looks cool and self possessed really she doesn''t know what she wants. Her self esteem is not that great either since her Sun and Moon squares Mars Saturn and Pluto and she is fairly well prompted by both parents. Maybe both William and Kate share similar emotional backgrounds so have a common understanding. But she still needs to get herself a sensible career.
Oddly enough Camilla Parker Bowles is a very wide New Moon in Cancer and her first husband was a Full Moon Capricorn like KateM.

Prince William From: Marjorie. (13 Jun 2008 17:59): I''m not sure I can add much to what I''ve said before. He''s going through profound emotional and lifestyle changes over the next three years which will undoubtedly affect his closest relationships. His relationship chart with Kate has a Pluto opposition Venus 08/09 which could set up major stresses. Though it''s not back on the exact aspect till the end of the year.
To be honest I''m kind of sorry for him having to live his love life out in the full glare of publicity. It''s tricky enough in normal circumstances and none of us would like our relationships put under that kind of scrutiny especially when they are blowing hot and cold.
She''s having an unsettled second half of June and some panicky moments and frustrations thereafter. I just wish she'd get herself a sensible career which she''s perfectly capable of - though she''s got her Sun and maybe Moon square Mars Saturn and widely square Pluto so she''s clearly under someone''s thumb in the family. She''s got endless grit but perhaps doesn''t see herself as having choices in her life.

The Years Ahead:
With Saturn rising in his chart he will carry increasingly heavy responsibilities in his career over the next decade. At the moment Saturn in the 8th until late 2007 is making him emotionally defensive, not happy to drop his guard, relying on his own inner resilience. Through 2007 as well Saturn sextiles Pluto which makes for tough conditions, the need for perseverance. In late July 07 it squares his Venus putting a damper on his romantic and social life, with a hint of a separation. His relationship with his father continues the bumpy ride which started in 2006, with some upsets and adjustments needed through 2007. In September 07 there are discouraging Saturn contacts to their happy-go-lucky composite Moon opposition Jupiter which will damp light hearted feelings between them. What causes these ups and downs may also involve the Queen since her composite with William suggests high insecurity between them through 2007 and some discouragement in September especially. Saturn continues on to cool the Charles/William relationship further either with additional duties or setbacks in 2008 as Saturn crosses the composite Sun, Uranus and Pluto. Their relationship will undergo a profound change and challenge in 2008 as Uranus opposes the composite Pluto.
Luckily in William’s chart 2008 sees Pluto sextile his Jupiter on the midheaven and sextile his midheaven the following year. This will be a time or great confidence, success and positive energy for him career-wise, though it will also be highly pressured. He will feel he has met the love of his life in his late 20s towards the start of the next decade as his progressed Venus crosses first his Sun and then Moon in early Cancer. This is just after his life has undergone profound changes (2008 to 2010) as Pluto opposes both his Sun and Moon and Sun/Moon midpoint, taking down old structures, putting him under considerable challenge as his lifestyle is almost totally transformed. He will be involved in a major emotional struggle with himself as well as his close family. It will clearly be a critical turning point in his life with a strong sense of separation from the past and perhaps certain people who were once close. 2010 and 2011 then see Saturn conjunct his 9th house Mars which could suggest minor accidents when travelling long distance or an argumentative patch when his strongly held views are challenged. 2011 is his Saturn return, which is always a heavy, hard working time, bringing him through his first maturing transition, readying him for the responsibilities which lie ahead. Saturn then reaches its first peak from late 2012, lasting for seven years when he will be working ambitiously and successfully in the public eye. Though it will be a roller coaster ride with disruptive Uranus in Aries from 2011 in aspect to his central planets, Sun, Moon, Mars. 2012 and 2013 see both Uranus and Pluto in hard aspect to his Mars so it will be a frustrating and sometimes high risk phase.

BIRTH CHART: Born at the time of the New Moon in Cancer, he is oddly contradictory in being highly self sufficient while at the same time needing strong emotional support from his family and a close partner. With the Sun and Moon in the 7th, he needs another half in life for security, to make him feel whole. Yet his Moon’s North Node also in Cancer in the 7th, will make fulfilling one-to-one relationships a major challenge for him. He will tend to slide back into independence at moments of stress. Born just after a solar eclipse in Cancer, he was destined to make his mark on society, to be deeply connected into the zeitgeist (spirit of the age). This eclipse, which occurred only a couple of hours before his birth, is in a Saros cycle which ends in 2036, leading some astrologers to suggest he will be the last monarch of Britain, and could live on after his mid fifties without his constitutional role.
His mother, Princess Diana, also had a 7th house Cancer Sun, so he will inherit her social charm, and ability to conduct himself elegantly in public. Like her he also has powerful planets in the 9th so will have trenchantly strong opinions, less leading edge and unconventional than hers, but when he makes his mind up, he will not be easily swayed. Mars in Libra in 9th will make him outspoken especially where he sees unfairness or injustice, though it will be cramped in its directness by Saturn. He will be serious about testing out his beliefs, especially those instilled in childhood on religion and general social views. Pluto in the 9th will make him a propagandist for his pet causes, determined to convert others to the rightness of his views. A chart weighted to cardinal signs will give him initiative, bright, innovative ideas and make for a restless personality who likes constant change, unlike his more fixed sign grandmother, who is content to uphold the status quo over the long term.
William’s is not an easy chart with a Mars Saturn conjunction and Pluto in Libra squaring his Sun, Moon and North Node. The upside of this is it gives him toughness, military endurance, the capacity to put up with duty rather than expect pleasure or getting what he wants and the courage to survive in what is an increasingly dangerous royal lifestyle. But he will be resentful underneath about having had his deeper emotional needs thwarted in childhood by both parents, which will show itself in outbursts of temper and even occasional accidents, since Mars Saturn is prone to broken bones. He will always be conscious of being an outsider, standing apart from others, which will cause him some emotional suffering.

Luckily Jupiter at 0 degrees Scorpio on his mid heaven will help to lift the heaviness and bleakness of Pluto giving him a confident ability to push, at least in career terms, for what he thinks is right. Jupiter on his mid heaven suits him for a life of pomp, pageantry and heroic status and will guarantee him rising popularity and public respect the older he gets. He has another two plus points as a counter balance to a slight tendency to depression in his chart. One is a fun loving and tactile Venus in Taurus (his only earth sign) in the fifth, again similar to his mother, so he will party with gusto and have a sparkling, spontaneous presence on the social scene, as well as enjoying sports. He also has two planets and his ascendant in fire signs, which will bring some added buoyancy. Neptune on his Sagittarian ascendant give him his sexy eyes and generally attractive appearance with a slight air of mystique always in place.
With Uranus in the 11th he will attract zany, not always traditional friends. Opposing Mercury in Gemini, it gives him a sharp, quick wit, the ability to pick up information quickly and to respond at speed. Mercury in the 6th in Gemini means he will be meticulous about keeping on top of the details of his job, conscientious and practical, a definite help with only one earth sign in his chart.

Family Ties: Prince Charles
His relationship with his father, Prince Charles is a complex one, over burdened by the circumstance of both their lives, always destined to live through major upheavals, and wildly contradictory (Sun conjunct Uranus, Pluto and Saturn). It is both possessive and defiant; close at times yet needing space at others, always constrained by a sense of duty and understanding that works comes first. With a Moon Jupiter opposition there will be emotional comfort and a sense of encouragement. Yet a Mars Neptune conjunction hints at an ego imbalance. The success of one makes the other feel inadequate. There is affection but also the potential for a good deal of miscommunication and petty irritation. (Mars Neptune opposition Mercury widely square Venus). William will dampen some of Charles’s domestic dreams and rather disorganized approach to his home life. He will over the longer term sharpen his father up about how he runs his household.

Prince Harry
His relationship with his brother Prince Harry is highly affectionate (Sun Venus conjunction), friendly and boisterous with a good deal of passionate enthusiasm for adventure and fun (Moon opposition Jupiter and Uranus). Though with a Saturn Pluto conjunction trine the composite Gemini Moon’s North Node, there will be a more serious sub text, of their both being chained to a public role.

Queen Elizabeth
Prince William’s relationship to his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, is one in which power plays a great part (Sun opposition Mars square Pluto). One will feel dominated by the other, yet will not be able to express their frustration at the imbalance. The Queen’s sixth house Pluto, part of her unrelenting determination to carry out her duties, falls within a degree of William’s Moon’s North Node. There is a strong karmic tie here, or put another way, one which joins his public destiny to her strong convictions about how to carry forward the role of monarch. Her obsessively conscientious mid heaven Saturn falls in his 10th house which emphasises her role as a disciplinarian and teacher. There is as a counter balance a good deal of affection and fun in their interface (Moon opposition Jupiter and Uranus square Venus opposition Neptune). They will enjoy family gatherings together at home and have robust discussions about alternative philosophies of life.
