A highly strung, nervy mood will make his judgement even less stable than usual as Uranus opposes Neptune in April, late July and August 2004, and January/February 2005. This will bring a confusing uncertain time. Since July 2003 Saturn has been transitting his 8th house and is approaching the conjunction to his Sun in mid July 2004 and then Pluto in mid August. He will find popularity and generous support hard to come by and will feel trapped by circumstances beyond his control, financial and other. Though before then there may be a few lucky breaks with Uranus square his Jupiter/Node midpoint from late April to late July.
Neptune returns for the final time to trine his Mars from mid September to late November 2004 bringing feelings of failure, panic, discouragement and an undermining of his aggressive drive. At the same time Neptune squares Jupiter/Saturn which will diminish his career reputation, causing plans to fail and usually accompanies feelings of pessimism, abandonment, work without success, career setbacks. [When this influence occurred before in 2003 the early stages of the Iraq Attack hit more problems than expected, with fierce pockets of resistance, logistical muddles, the refusal of Turkey to allow for a northern invasion front, and friendly fire deaths.]
Rumsfeld & Bush
An ambitious pairing, they share a passionate enthusiasm for getting ahead. Together they make a formidable team but if their ruthless desire for power ever turns inwards they will split up amongst much rancour and bitterness. Saturn square the composite Sun, Mars, Venus and Pluto will create barriers between them, some distrust but also a sense that they are chained together. Neither one feels they can break free. Saturn in transit will bring a cooling in their relationship in late June, which will worsen through late September and October.
Rumsfeld Personality
A highly controlled and controlling Cancer, he has his Sun close to power-hungry Pluto in the most hidden area of his chart. He likes pulling strings behind the scenes and exerting influence away from prying eyes. Very will driven, he has a do-or-die attitude to life, rarely concerning himself in trivialities. He has an inclination to become involved in major life-or-death dramas. With a politician’s Moon at the mid heaven in fair minded Libra, he likes to look caring, but always keeps his real agenda well out of sight. His Jupiter Neptune conjunction in the 9th gives off an aura of idealism, but he is prone to flights of fantasy and often his assessments of his grander schemes are way off beam. With only vague Neptune in an earth sign (Virgo) his lack of realistic judgement and practicality is his Achilles Heel. He talks up a good story with Mercury and Jupiter together in flamboyant Leo, but can fail to deliver, since he rarely thinks through the consequences of his actions. With Mars in Gemini in the 7th he can be sharply outspoken, aggressive in his general approach.
