Conrad Black, the Canadian newspaper proprietor, formerly owner of the UK Daily Telegraph, has been found guilty on fraud charges of stealing $60 million and is facing a lengthy jail sentence in the USA. He's an enthusiastic, confident Virgo with expansive Jupiter close to his Sun. If the 6 am birth time is right then his definitely upbeat Sun Jupiter are in his 1st house giving him a powerfully engaging, robust temperament. Another two Virgo planets charming Venus and chatty are also in his 1st house so he was never going to be a personality to be overlooked.
Ambitious Mars also in Virgo is in the 2nd house of personal finances close to Neptune. Mars Neptune together adore showbiz, the pzazz, the publicity and the glamour so he would earn and spend money in style. Neptune can be vague about boundaries, careless and not always responsible. And with a Leo ascendant he would always need to keep up appearances, liked to look flamboyant, colourful and a cut above the crowd.
A 10th house Uranus pushed him towards a career which was different, gave him the elbow room to conduct himself by his own rules but would always be slightly unstable. His life was destined to be a roller coaster ride. Since Uranus squares onto his Virgo planets he was always going to be a rebel, the one who followed his own path without caring much about others' reactions.
An intensely passionate, intense, secretive Scorpio Moon makes him feel deeply but never show when he's hurt or slighted, though he broods about revenge. Since it also squares Pluto and trines Saturn, his emotional life would be showy on the outside (Moon sextile Venus) but rather bleak on the inside. Since his planets all fall between the 10th and 3rd houses he tends to be more independent than dependent. Though his nodal axis with South Node in the 5th and North Node in the 11th would tempt him to party away the moment while discounting thoughts about the future. He's had few really loyal friends in his life.
Since Saturn squared the midheaven when his guilty verdict was announced the birth time might check out. Saturn is now heading for his first quadrant from September which usually ushers in a low profile, less successful phase of several years. And with Saturn from September 07 transitting across his Virgo planets he'll find his enthusiasm and sociability at a low ebb. Pluto is also square Mars till the end of November which is hugely frustrating, can be frightening and makes him feel impotent. That will be there strongly from the start of November. This year and next Uranus also opposes his Venus which is bad for his romantic relationships, emotionally unsettling and full of surprises.
With Jupiter and Pluto heading for his 5th house from late December (on this birth time) he'll bounce out more robustly in 2008. Though Pluto picking up the square to Mars/Neptune in 2008 suggests high hopes may hit the dust. Then by 2009 Pluto squares Neptune which will be disorienting where cash and resources are concerned. Though he's also got Pluto sextile his Sun which will give him the impetus to change his lifestyle and his attitudes considerably. 2010 sees Uranus opposing Mars which is highly insecure, usually very stressful, financially and emotionally, sometimes physically. Uranus by then is into his 8th house which can be psychologically unsettling as well as rocky for cash for a few years thereafter. What comes next will be up and down as Pluto sextiles Jupiter, normally good for success, cash and confidence in 2011 at the same time as Pluto heads for the opposition to Saturn which will not be remotely easy. He won't go down quietly that's for sure.
On his astrocartography Pluto MC runs to the east of London, UK which sounds about right - Pluto Midheaven brings great ruthlessness and great disgrace. His parans around London (latitude lines) also suggest the same. The Janus interpretation is spot on: "At this latitude, you crave power and authority, and are a force to be reckoned with. You are used to getting your own way here and have little time for compromise. You have a dominating personality and a commanding manner, which can sometimes make you seem pushy and autocratic. You are capable of - and used to - giving orders, but you are not so good at taking them. Power struggles of varying degrees are experienced on a daily basis, especially with domineering or authoritarian personalities."
