Amy Winehouse
It's been an odd year for Amy Winehouse, the popular jazz singer, with a suspected drug overdose in August, an arrest on suspicion of trying to pervert the course of justice, and a string of cancelled concerts and now an album which looks set to top the 2007 charts. Her life recently has been a roller coaster through chaos and confusion. She is a vague, creative, highly strung Virgo with a Sun Mercury conjunction square Neptune (and probably Moon) in Sagittarius. Her Neptune is highly aspected with a trine to a flamboyant, passionately enthusiastic Mars Venus conjunction in Leo giving her a love of performance and showbizz pzazz. This forms into a mini grand trine onto Pluto in Libra (conjunct Saturn in Scorpio) so she's an innovator, highly determined, controlling, a worrier with a tendency to depression.
Through 2006 and 07 she has had transitting Pluto on the conjunction to Neptune. This would have made the past 18 months disorienting, not a time of good judgements. Also the past two years Solar Eclipses fell close to or opposing her Sun suggesting that major decisions were needed to avoid crises. As if that was not enough Neptune has been opposing her Mars through 2007 with the last exact hit from late December 07 to mid January 08, which is panicky, failure-ridden, low energy and muddled. With a square to Neptune in her birth chart she would be escapist and probably addiction prone anyway and all the Neptunian activity in her chart would emphasise that trait.
Pluto is now off Neptune for good, though Neptune is opposition Venus in 2008 which is disappointing romantically and continues that Neptunian pull on her mini grand trine (Venus, Mars, Pluto, Saturn, Neptune and maybe Moon) for another year. The February 08 Solar Eclipse will oppose her Mars (and Neptune) which is likely to be thoroughly upsetting. And Uranus is heading for an opposition to the Sun in 2008 and Mercury in 2009 hinting that more upsets and upheavals are in the offing. Pluto will also sextile Saturn through 08 and 09 which is usually quite a tough struggle, having to cutback on indulgences and wrestle with discouragement. Saturn is also square her adventurous lucky Jupiter Uranus conjunction in Sagittarius until mid 2008 which is usually a time of cutbacks, setbacks and coming down to earth.
Without a birth time it's difficult to see quite how her career will go though with Uranus trine her Jupiter/Saturn midpoint in early and late 2008 she may make a few sensible decisions and have a change of direction. If and it's a fairly large if - Pluto sextile Saturn were put to good use in cleaning up her lifestyle, and Uranus opposing her Sun was similarly utilised to make a positive change of direction, then she might get her life stabilised. Her Moon's North Node is in Gemini, forming another mini grand trine to Pluto sextile Mars and Venus, thus tying her into the zeitgeist. The Gemini NNode describes a free spirit, who scatters their attention in all directions and resists being tamed. The karmic lessons here are about learning to understand other people's viewpoint and communicating clearly.
