A chatty, creative, humanitarian Taurus, the star of ER, Ocean’s 11 & 12, The Perfect Storm and Three Kings amongst other hit movies, can sometimes be stubborn with two thirds of his planets in fixed signs. Though this also gives him staying power and perseverance. His Taurus Sun makes him earthy, tactile, indulgent. A predominantly earth chart gives him common sense, a strong grounding in reality and good business and financial skills.
With three planets also in fire, he can be a steamroller, running on high energy and determination, pushing on when others fall by the wayside. If his birth time is right his ascendant is Pisces so he puts out an image of gentleness, kindness and diffidence. His Moon is in hard working Capricorn close to bleak Saturn in the same sign. So he grew up getting less nurturing and comfort than he would have wished and feeling that he had to achieve to be valued.
His Sun opposes Neptune in Scorpio making him vague at times, tricky to pin down but suits him admirably for the film business which Neptune rules. Sean Connery also has Neptune buried in the 8th so perhaps a sexy aura on film comes from that deep connection to an other wordly energy. It can also suggest a need to be wary of business partners since they won’t always be trustworthy.
Emphasised Jupiter in Aquarius makes him tolerant of all creeds, classes and kinds of people with a wide interest in how society is run. Being on the point of a fixed T square to the Sun Neptune opposition it suggests his social ideals will be persistently pursued over time. This placing can produce a single minded individual, who can be an enlightened political spokesman for the people and philanthropic in purpose. Perhaps why he has opted recently for more politically oriented movies – Syriania and Good Night and Good Luck, both giving him Oscar nominations in 2006.
Long term commitments can be difficult with strong Jupiter since he’ll constantly seek variety. A 5th house Mars in flamboyant Leo makes him an enthusiastic party goer with a super abundnace of energy. Venus in Aries in the 1st gives him charm in abundance, allows him to be upfront about who he fancies and makes him adventurous in his pursuit of romance. With Jupiter opposing Mars he can be an enthusiastic promoter of his pet causes though he can at times over stretch himself and it doesn’t always make for good financial judgement, especially tied into Neptune.
His 6th house with Pluto, the Moon’s North Node and Uranus suggests he will have complicated working relationships and perhaps health issues through life. Pluto makes him controlling, at times obsessive, and Uranus makes him highly strung, at times unco-operative. Though the emphasised Uranus in square his Sun and Mercury can also make him an innovator, an experimenter and an agent for positive change out in society. And give him a mischievous sense of humour.
Present Influences: On the broad sweep of his career cycle he’s hardly begun with Saturn now moving through his 2nd quadrant. He has another fifteen years of success possibility ahead before he decides to slow down and take it easier. He’ll reach his peak from his mid 50s into his 60s. Through 2006, 2007 to the autumn of 2008 he’ll be working exceptionally hard but need to watch his health. Especially September 2006 to June 2007 as Saturn is conjunct Uranus which will bring jolts and tensions, perhaps exacerbating his back problems, and again June and July 2008 as Saturn is conjunct his Node and Pluto. But for all that he’ll also have even greater success from mid 2007 to mid 2008 with Jupiter in his 10th with a boost to his reputation.
Uranus is from 2006 in his first house until 2016 so he’ll insist on going his own way and being rebellious at times. Pluto crossing his 10th from 2005 onwards for a decade suggests he has found his vocation and will become increasingly powerful. With his secondary progressed Moon now in his 7th for two years he’ll become more determined to find a committed partner and with his secondary progressed Venus conjunct his Sun towards the end of 2008 he may well settle down romantically.
