The Clinton Sinking Years From: Marjorie. (04 Jun 2008 12:33): Some of the blame for Hillary''s (unthinkable some months back) failure to get the Democratic nomination now appears to be pointing at Bill - for his bad tempered outbursts, continuing rumours of womanising and his questionable rich cronies. Though her ''mis-speaks'' are probably more due to transitting Neptune opposing her Saturn and especially squaring her Mercury during the long campaign. Her bad strategy is possibly also due to no earth planets and, on the 8.01 am birth time which looks likely, no planets in earth houses either. She also hit the wrong time for her essential strengths which are continuity since obviously the electorate were in a mood for change and heady rhetoric and she''s not the showman her husband is.
What is intriguing is the stories that Bill''s ill humour and rackety lifestyle, which are in danger of wrecking his legacy, have escalated since his heart surgery in September 2004. In 2004 Pluto was opposing his Uranus which does suggest a major upheaval. But more pertinently perhaps Neptune was hovering around the opposition to his Pluto undermining his power. In the years since then Neptune hit the opposition to Sun/Pluto with much the same effect and in 2009 meets the debilitating, definitely not ego-boosting Neptune opposition to his Sun. Leos as a sign more than most depend on having an appreciative audience and an authoritative position so anything which undermines that centre stage platform will have a more devastating effect.
Hillary has also had her core determination signified by her formidable fixed planets - a fixed T square of Moon''s North Node in Taurus opposition Mercury (Venus) square Saturn (Mars Pluto) - undermined by Neptune transits since 2004 with Neptune then picking up the opposition to Mars Pluto, reaching the climax this year with Neptune hard aspecting on NNode, Saturn, Mercury. So these years almost to the end of 2009 were never going to be her glory time.
She''ll buck up faster than Bill I imagine since she''s got Pluto sextile her Scorpio Sun from early 2009 onwards for eighteen months which will find her getting a new act together. She doesn''t have a great deal of initiative, lacking cardinal planets, nor does she like change, but she''s a slogger and will just keep moving inexorably ahead, hiding her hurt over the long term. By the Inaguration on the 8.01 am birth time she''s got her Secondary Progressed Moon into the 8th for two years ahead which is usually a time of turmoil, trying to find new values and priorities. Transitting Uranus is on her Moon now which is emotional shocks and upheavals, bringing almost certainly pressure on her marriage. Her composite with Bill is under very challenging transits this year with Pluto square Sun Mercury mid June to late July and again in November; and Uranus square Uranus in 2009 which may see her throwing the crockery in the air and deciding she''s made one compromise too far in her domestic life.
Bill''s Progressions are interesting - on the 8.51 am birth time - he''s got transitting Saturn and his Secondary Progressed Moon into his 12th as well as his Tertiary Progressed Saturn for the next couple of years which is a time of semi-isolation with much introspection which he may not find easy. I would imagine the next couple of weeks will be especially bad tempered since his Tertiary Progressed Moon and Pluto are together with transitting Mars sparking them off. Across the Democrat Convention he''s got his Tertiary Progressed Mars in exact opposition to his Tertiary Progressed Uranus which will be upsetting, prone to outbursts.
There is a sense of change in the air politically starting with Australia''s election of Kevin Rudd, followed by Medvedev in Russia - and the upcoming UK politicians are the 1960s generation. So perhaps the Clintons are just too old hat for the zeitgeist and with McCain practically in formaldehyde it may help Obama. Though Italy went retro with Berlusconi so it will depend how sick the US is of the old guard and the old ways.
PRESENT INFLUENCES: Input Dec 30 07. Having sailed through 06 and 07 with Pluto trine his Sun, he’s in a good position feeling he has his life together and is able to make his influence felt. Into 2008 he has two helpful, encouraging and upbeat progressions of his Secondary Progressed Sun sextile his natal Sun and even better Tertiary Progressed Mars conjunct Tert. Progr. Jupiter right through into 2009 which brings luck, a positive attitude and is generally a success indicator. He will have his ups and downs, some insecurity in January; emotional blips in Feb/March and across the Election in November. Uranus will square his Uranus between April 2008 and February 2009 suggesting his life is moving through a radical re-think with a fair amount of change ongoing. Neptune trines his Uranus through 2008 which is fairly highly strung. It also trines his Jupiter from mid March on and off till late 2009 which brings idealism, charitable impulses, though it can also hint at a sense of false happiness – living in a rosy glow that nothing can go wrong. And with a strongly placed Jupiter in his chart maybe his luck will hold.
Into 2009 he has a mix of great success and high confidence. In January 09 across the inauguration of the new President he’ll be jangled and unsettled as Saturn squares his Uranus though also in the mood for a busy, outgoing social life for a year with invitations pouring in as Jupiter moves through his 5th house for a year. But he’ll also have Neptune opposing his Sun from April 09 till the end of 2010 which is usually low energy, motivation and confidence and not a morale boosting influence. If his birth time is accurate (and there now seems some doubt) then he’ll want to start taking it more easily career-wise from 2012 onwards.
Birth Chart: A Sun Leo, with a powerfully resilient Saturn, Pluto, Mercury conjunction also in Leo, he is formidably much stronger than most of his sign. Hugely resourceful in crisis, secretive, controlling though given to depressive mood swings, he still revels in his limelight role of the entertainer. A publicity-hungry, rather slick collection of Mars, Neptune, Venus, and Jupiter all in Libra on his ascendant, allow him to turn on the charm to order. His tactile, sensual Taurus Moon is deeply buried, a hint of his intense relationship as a child to his grandmother. Uranus in Gemini make him broad minded, tolerant, a genuine innovator of humanitarian reform. Intriguingly he share his fun-loving Leo Sun, sensual Taurus Moon combination with Mick Jagger.
